BEIJING: A passenger plane in China skidded off the runway during a take-off and caught fire. The incident took place at the Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport in China. The plane of Tibet Airlines was involved in the accident. Several people were injured. They have been admitted to the hospital.

CGTN, a government-run media outlet, said no one was killed in the crash.

Chinese media have shared a video of the accident on Twitter. The video shows fire and black smoke rising from the left wing of the plane, which is hovering off the runway, passengers escaping and firefighters trying to put out the blaze. The 113 passengers and nine crew on board were rescued and the injured were taken to hospital, the tweet said.

The video shows people exiting and running through the emergency doors.

Chinese media reported that the plane was on fire and the runway was closed.
