SC Bern strengthens its offensive. He signs striker Sven Bärtschi for three years.
The 29-year-old left Switzerland for North America in 2010. He first played for Portland in the WHL junior league before being drafted number 13 by Calgary in the first round of the 2011 NHL draft.
In addition to the Calgary Flames, Bärtschi also played for the Vancouver Canucks and the Las Vegas Golden Knights. After a total of 294 NHL games, in which he recorded 66 goals and 139 points, he is now returning home following a season in the AHL with the Henderson Silver Knights (46 games, 29 points).
«It was always my goal to continue my career in Switzerland one day. Now the time has come to come home,” Bärtschi is quoted as saying in the media release of his new club. (bir)
