Blues win in Minnesota

The St. Louis Blues defeated the Minnesota Wild 5-2 Tuesday night at Xcel Energy Center to take a 3-2 lead in their best-of-7 series.

Vladimir Tarasenko led the winners’ attack with a hat trick. It was a second career three-goal game for the Russian in the playoffs. Brandon Saad and Ryan O’Reilly also eluded Quebec goalkeeper Marc-André Fleury.

Kirll Kaprizov was the Wild’s lone scorer with his sixth and seventh goals of the playoffs.

Jordan Binnington did well in front of the Blues net, stopping 31 of 33 shots he faced. Marc-André Fleury gave up four times on 31 shots.

The next game in the series will be played Thursday in St. Louis and will be broadcast on TVA Sports starting at 9:30 p.m.
