This decision of the justice of the peace of Brussels will interest all the Belgian Horeca.
The judgment was pronounced in April by the justice of the peace of the first canton of Brussels. It will be of interest to the entire Horeca sector, this great victim of the Covid crisis and the devastating effects it has had on businesses which are struggling to recover. While all establishments suffered, many were simply no longer able to pay their rent. This was the case, in Brussels, of Café Leffe, whose operator, Christina Giubbi, has been linked for almost twenty years by commercial lease to the large brewery company InBev Belgium.
The establishment, located at the bottom of the Grand Sablon, works mainly around the clientele of the square, and mainly tourists and visitors to the market as well as the neighboring offices and the relative proximity to the courthouse.
