The amount that Barça will enter after qualifying for the Champions League

Joan Laporta and her board of directors take a breath following FC Barcelona certified its presence in the next edition of the UEFA Champions League because, despite the fact that it does not imply an extra income, it will allow us to comply with what was budgeted for the current year. Of not having obtained it, the culés would have lived a true drama at financial level.

Barça qualified for the continental competition following beating Real Betis this Saturday at the Benito Villamarín (1-2) thanks to a goal from Jordi Alba in discount time that reassured the Catalans following a very gray game. The culés remove a weight from above and now they will concentrate on the second objective: to stay with the second place.

It is a priority, since the income would increase. According to information from the newspaper ‘SPORT’, Barça will pocket at least €49.75 millionIt’s depending on how far you go in the competition. The income is broken down into 15.6 ‘kilos’ for playing in the Champions League group stage and another 34.11 for being third in the historical ranking of the competition, behind Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

Second place, a priority

In addition to the aforementioned amount, for the Catalan team it will be key to win second place, a position that would participate in the Spanish Super Cupwith eight million ‘insurance’ and four more in case of raising the title. Likewise, we must count the figure that would be entered by the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) for television rights and the market pool.

In this sense, if the Catalans secure the second position in LaLiga they would take six million euros, while the difference between being fourth and second would be regarding 18 ‘kilos’. More than necessary for the economy of the Catalans.
