Final sprint for seven referendums – news.ORF.at

Today, seven petitions for a referendum can still be signed online or in one of the approximately 2,000 registration offices. In addition to the “rule of law & anti-corruption referendum” there are the initiatives “mandatory vaccination vote: Respect no”, “No to compulsory vaccination”, “Stop live animal transport agony”, “Unemployment benefit up” and “Implement unconditional basic income”.

The aim of all initiators is at least 100,000 signatures, which guarantee treatment in parliament. The anti-corruption referendum has already cleared this hurdle, as Proponent Martin Kreutner reported at the end of the week.

All Austrians who are registered in an electoral register are entitled to register; signatures provided in the introductory phase are considered a declaration of support and are included in the result. The Ministry of the Interior will announce in the evening how much support the seven requests have received.
