Dubai Airport to close runway; Change in air service from Monday

A portion of the runway at Dubai International Airport will be closed for maintenance, with changes to flights from Monday. Many flights are operated via Maktoum Airport in Jabal Ali. Air India Express and Air India have announced changes to several services to Kerala.

Many flights to Dubai International Airport, codenamed DXB, will operate from tomorrow to Maktoum Airport or Dubai Central Airport in Jebel Ali, codenamed DWC. The distance between the two airports is more than 60 km and travel will be canceled if the change is not known in advance. Free buses are available from Dubai Airport to Jabal Ali Airport every half an hour. Air India Flight 1833 Dubai-Kochi will operate via Jabal Ali Airport. Chennai and Bangalore flights will be operated via Sharjah.

Air India Express’s Kozhikode, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Mangalore and Tiruchirappalli services have also been shifted to Jebel Ali, Air India said in a statement. Fly Dubai has also relocated its flights to Jabal Ali.
