In order to fight the monster inflation, the euro currency guardians from the European Central Bank (ECB) want to raise interest rates!

► ECB Director Isabel Schnabel (50) announced to BILD: “As things stand today, I assume that we will be able to raise interest rates for the first time in July.”

Leading economists welcome the announcement, but at the same time warn of the serious risks of higher interest rates. “In extreme cases, the euro might break up,” warns top economist Gunther Schnabl (55, Leipzig University) to BILD. Read more with BILDplus.
