After the State Congress authorized the validation of the disincorporation of two lands that were donated to the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), for the construction of a new Family Medicine Unit (UMF), in the Valle Poniente neighborhood since Last January, the mayor of Ramos Arizpe, Chema Morales Padilla, pointed out that the Federation must turn to see the municipality since the services in the two UMF and the Ixtlero Hospital have been exceeded for years by the increase in registered rights holders in the town.
“Social Security must be very clear that in Ramos Arizpe, where there are a large number of beneficiaries, we are talking regarding more than 94,000 citizens in a municipality of 122,000 inhabitants, which implies that in Ramos a significant worker quota is generated. -employer to Social Security and for this reason we deserve the Family Medicine Unit and we deserve a hospital” he explained.
Morales Padilla clarified that for the construction of a hospital, a city council does not have the economic capacity in the budget, in addition to being merely commissioned by the IMSS itself.
“Then there are people who do not define the responsibilities that the municipality and other government agencies have to carry out, the health issue is not a direct responsibility of the municipality or of any other, however, in the pandemic we entered it by investing given the magnitude of this health contingency and in the case of hospitals or medical units, I cannot build that type of infrastructure, there is no budget for it,” he explained.
The municipe emphasized that the Social Security pay attention to Ramos Arizpe for the construction of a new Family Medicine Unit since the municipality is among the first places in the state in labor formality.
“But I do think it is very necessary for the IMSS to turn to see Ramos Arizpe because we are the third municipality in Coahuila out of 38 municipalities that contributes the most formal jobs to our entity and that contributes the most worker-employer contributions per capita,” he added.
