Emirates News Agency – MoI launches second unified traffic awareness campaign for 2022

ABU DHABI, 7th May / WAM / The Ministry of Interior, represented by the Federal Traffic Council, launched its second unified traffic campaign at the state level under the slogan “Traffic Safety for Electric Bicycle Users” and “Electric Scooters”, with the aim of enhancing traffic awareness among this category, through the need to adhere to and follow Instructions and instructions necessary for traffic safety on the roads to ensure the safety and security of its users.

The initiative comes as part of a series of traffic initiatives and campaigns launched early this year 2022, and aims to send awareness messages to electric bike users to ensure their safety on the roads, and urge them to abide by the traffic and traffic laws for driving such bikes.

The campaign calls for the use of electric bikes “scooters” in the tracks designated for their practice, with mandatory wearing of helmets, knee bumpers and reflective clothing (phosphorescent), especially while driving at night, and compliance with safety instructions, prevention requirements and regulations for such vehicles in the emirates of the country.

Major General Counselor Engineer Muhammad Saif Al Zaffin, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations Affairs and Chairman of the Federal Traffic Council, said: “In our campaigns, we are keen to enhance awareness for all road users, including this category of electric bike users, and in the interest of their safety and the safety of people, we send awareness messages through the campaign to The side of the field work by the police patrols in the adherence of the users of these bikes to the instructions and traffic laws and the respect of the road and its users.”
