The Los Angeles Lakers are currently busy finding a successor to Frank Vogel. In recent days we learned that they had received permission to speak with two assistants, Adrian Griffin et Darvin Hamand today we learn via Shams and Province that they would have met two former head coaches: Terry Stotts et Mark Jackson.
Not necessarily surprising to see the name of Mark Jackson, even if it should not really excite Lakers fans, since it was rumored recently that LeBron James would like him to become the new coach of the team. Jackson is also a finalist for the job in Sacramento and he might be spoiled for choice.
As for Stotts, he had a year off following being fired by the Blazers at the end of last season.
But the list of coaches met by the Lakers should grow, the franchise wishing to leave nothing to chance. Woj reports that it is Rob Pelinka who is managing this search, but that there is a committee in place to review applicants, with Jeanie Bussthe owner, and the advice Kurt Rambis et Phil Jackson.
The Los Angeles Lakers have interviewed former Golden State Warriors coach Mark Jackson for their head coaching job, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Jackson is among the finalists for the Sacramento Kings head coach opening.
