Since the arrival of the new hockey administration at the CH, there is certainly something that stands out: we want to restore an important place to the Former Canadiens within the organization. It is for this reason in particular that the Habs had organized an alumni dinner a few weeks ago.
After all, all these great players who played for the Habs have knowledge that deserves to be shared with members of the current edition of the team.
Of the lot, there is obviously the RoadrunnerYvan Cournoyer, who was recognized as an attacker who, despite his small size, was so dynamic and fast that he managed to create an attack.
Doesn’t that remind you of a current edition player, does it? Someone like Cole Caufield, for example?
Indeed, Cournoyer and Caufield had the opportunity to have a bit of a chat recently, and during this conversation, the 78-year-old admitted to Caufield that he saw a “good Roadrunner ” in him.

Obviously a little touched by Cournoyer’s remarks, Caufield replied that he was trying to draw inspiration from his game and that he appreciated the fact of being able to rub shoulders with him in the organization.
Later in the interview, Cournoyer even says (jokingly) that if Caufield ever needed help on the power play, he just had to call him and he would come and help him. I admit, this one made me laugh a bit.
But beyond all these good words from both sides (the video lasts five minutes, but we can imagine that the interview lasted a bit longer), what I like to see is the respect the two men have for each other. On the one hand, Cournoyer is convinced that Caufield will achieve great things in Montreal and that he will have the chance to win here, while on the other hand, Caufield seems genuinely honored to be able to benefit from the knowledge of a football legend. ‘organization.
It reminds me the interview Caufield had with Steve Shutt at the end of the season last year.
In short, a beautiful moment between the past and the present (which is also the future) of the organization, which I invite you to listen to as a whole (I give it to you ICI). Hopefully we can see more moments like this in the years to come.

– For comparison, CH had Mathieu Perreault on their third line in their last game of the season. Nothing once morest Perreault, whom I sincerely appreciated, but we understand why the Panthers were in first place in the league while the CH waited in 32nd.

– Jason Spezza doesn’t worry too much regarding it complicated travel for teams playing in Canada.
Jason Spezza, on the #leafs decision to bus to Buffalo before flying to Tampa: “That’s above my pay grade. I get on the bus when they tell me to get on the bus. I get on the plane when they tell me to get on the plane. As long as it all leads to the arena I’m pretty happy.”
