Zacatecas will host the XXXII (32) National Congress of Family Medicine called Empowerment of family medicine in the framework of the COVID-19 pandemic, which will be held from May 25 to 28 at the Convention Center.
This event had been suspended for two years due to confinement, however, thanks to the containment of cases, it has been possible to carry out it in person.
Gad Gamed Zavala Cruz, Presidency of the Mexican Federation of Specialists and Residents of Family Medicine, stated that this congress is highly relevant for the specialty of family medicine since it is regarding empowering those in charge in their daily actions, in addition to an update and strengthening of knowledge in the care of post-COVID patients.
During this event, an athletic race is scheduled to take place, with which this academic project is highlighted, which is entitled 7RK Race, seven reasons to run, which will be held at the Gato Circuit.
As part of the academic program, Zavala Cruz announced that during the congress there will be great speakers of national and international stature, such as the undersecretary of the general health council, specialists from Havana, Cuba, and the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). ), the latter is, in turn, the cradle of family medicine.
The president of the Mexican Federation of Specialists and Residents highlighted that among the topics that will be addressed in this congress are the consequences of COVID and how to treat them, with the aim of expanding knowledge.
