Russian Foreign Minister ‘Hitler-Jewish statement’; Naphtali Bennett apologizes to Putin
Tel Aviv: Israeli Prime Minister Naphtali Bennett has apologized to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov for saying that Adolf Hitler had Jewish roots.
In a statement issued on May 5, Bennett said he had accepted Putin’s apology.
Earlier, Sergei Lavrov’s comment was highly controversial. The main allegation was that Lavrov’s statement misrepresented the history of Hitler’s massacres.
The reference was made in an interview with an Italian news channel in response to Russia’s claim that they were invading Ukraine to de – nacify.
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Selensky is Jewish, but Nazi elements still exist in that country.

Israel had earlier demanded that Russia apologize in a controversial statement.
Meanwhile, the Israeli prime minister now claims that the Russian president has apologized for the incident. Israeli media reported that he had spoken to Putin on the phone.
Russia has confirmed that Vladimir Putin and Naphtali Bennett spoke on the phone, but did not mention Putin’s apology.
