Measure in Luxembourg: The energy tax credit will be paid to you sooner than expected

Flagship measure of the “Solidaritéitspak” approved on March 30 during the “tripartite” agreement on energy costs, the introduction of the temporary energy tax credit, up to 84 euros per month, should be triggered one month earlier than expected, in July instead of August. This progress stems from Statec’s revised forecasts for inflation, which should reach 5.8% in 2022 and 2.8% in 2023.

Thus, initially estimated at 750 million euros, the cost of financing the package of measures of the “tripartite” agreement should prove to be higher. Concretely, the impact of this additional month for the coffers of the State was evaluated at 55 million euros, Thursday in the special parliamentary committee “Tripartite”. Parliamentary work on this bill will continue next week.
