Ras Al Khaimah, May 5, WAM / His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah, affirmed that the decision to unify the armed forces on May 6, 1976 represents a luminous sign in the history of the UAE and a fateful decision made by the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan “may God rest his soul” and his brothers the founding fathers “may God have mercy on them” at that important time contributed to strengthening the union, supporting its pillars and stability in the face of challenges.
In a speech on the occasion of the 46th anniversary of the unification of the armed forces, His Highness the Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah said that the decision to unify the UAE armed forces under one command and one flag, and the implications it bears for the unity of the word and the strength of the union, came in response to the insightful vision of the founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding fathers, and the aspirations of the people of the UAE to build a unified defense force that preserves the capabilities of the people, protects the union’s gains, and defends the homeland’s security by land, sea and air, so that the union of the UAE will increase following the 6th of May 1976 in strength, pride, dignity and strength.
His Highness added: “The decision to unify the armed forces was the real breakthrough towards a comprehensive development process to establish an advanced military force that adopts the values of peace and humanity and contributes with the international community to maintaining international security and stability.” Contributing to humanitarian, relief and development missions at the regional and global levels, which has strengthened the position of the UAE on the international map as a defensive and humanitarian power, in addition to its political, economic and civilizational position.
His Highness said: “Our armed forces have enjoyed the support of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him”, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, until today it has become a model for an advanced military institution that is militarily and technologically qualified with knowledge, skills and capabilities that keep pace with modern military technology, which has high efficiency and capacity.
He stressed that the armed forces have witnessed, since their unification, a great qualitative leap with the help of loyal Emiratis who have dedicated themselves to preserving the security and stability of the nation and the integrity of its lands.
His Highness said: “As we celebrate this precious occasion, we feel all the meanings of pride and pride in the sacrifices of our brothers, the sons of the armed forces, and their national roles that will be immortalized in history so that the UAE will remain the homeland of security and stability and the land of growth and prosperity.”
His Highness, the Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah, extended his warmest congratulations and blessings on this occasion to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him”, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the State and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and their brothers, Their Highnesses, members of the Supreme Council of the Union, rulers of the Emirates and sons of the armed forces, asking God Almighty to perpetuate success and prosperity for our wise leadership and for the Emirates of pride, security, stability and prosperity.
