Al-Asmar also clarified that “the salary correction is being discussed in the Index Committee, but the problem is that this matter collides with the continuous fluctuation of the dollar price and thus the fluctuation of commodity and fuel prices, stressing the importance of the stability of the exchange rate to be built upon.”
The sources of the Ministry of Finance indicated that “the first installment of social assistance for the months of January and February 2022, amounting to three million Lebanese pounds (3 million), will be paid on May 10 to the public sector, the military and retirees, and the new transfer allowance will be paid to the public sector and the military in active service with a retroactive effect starting From February 2022, the rest of the social assistance will be paid every 15th of every month until the end of the year.
