MADRID, May 5 / WAM / Manchester City missed a golden opportunity to reach the Champions League final for the second consecutive season and lost 1-3 to its Spanish host, Real Madrid, in the second leg of the semi-finals of the tournament.
And Manchester City won 4-3 at home in the first leg last week, but the riyal overturned the total result in his favour, 6-5, and qualified for the final, which meets Liverpool on May 28.
The first half ended in a goalless tie, then Manchester City advanced with a goal by Algeria’s Riyad Mahrez in the 73rd minute, but substitute Rodrigo returned Real to the match with two goals in the 90th minute and the first of stoppage time to push the match into extra time that witnessed a goal by French Karim Benzema from a penalty kick in the 95th minute.
