Want to tweet without addressing the entire planet? The social network is currently testing Circle (circle, in French), a feature allowing you to publish messages reserved for a restricted group of no more than 150 people.
This function is similar to what Instagram offers, with the possibility of drawing up a list of relatives
and to publish certain content for these people only.
Twitter Circle allows you to do the same, choose up to 150 people, whether they follow your account or not, and limit the reach of a tweet to this audience if you wish.
The members of this circle
will not be able to retweet your messages outside of it. Of course, this does not prevent Internet users from taking screenshots and posting them wherever they see fit, so caution will have to remain in order.
This new service is already available for a limited number of accounts worldwide, according to a page on Twitter’s technical support site. The feature is still in development and the social network has not provided a rollout timeline.
This news shows that despite all the hubbub around the acquisition of the social network by the whimsical billionaire Elon Musk, the tests of new products have not been put on hold. In April, Twitter announced that it was working on a button to edit a post following posting, a feature eagerly awaited by followers of the tweeting network.
