Police investigation into ‘61.4 billion won embezzlement’… Search and seizure of Woori Bank headquarters

The police, who are investigating a case of embezzlement of KRW 61.4 billion by an employee of Woori Bank, raided the Woori Bank headquarters.

According to the police on the 2nd, the Namdaemun Police Station in Seoul sent investigators to the Woori Bank headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul for 4 hours from 1:50 p.m. to search for related documents such as account books and the PC used by the suspect.

The house of Jeong Mo, an employee who was arrested on charges of embezzlement, and his brother’s house were also seized and searched. The police plan to analyze the data obtained from the search and seizure and trace Jung’s account to find evidence of the crime. A police official said, “We will look into all directions, including whether there are other accomplices besides my brother.”

Jung, who has worked at Woori Bank for over 10 years, is accused of embezzling regarding 61.452.14 billion won three times from 2012 to 2018.
