Russian forces will not artificially mortgage their tasks in Ukraine on any specific date – Al-Manar TV website – Lebanon

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the Russian forces will not artificially mortgage their tasks in Ukraine to any specific date, adding that the operation is linked to the achievement of the announced goals.

In an interview with the Italian channel “Mediaset”, the Russian Foreign Minister said, in response to the question: Will the conflict in Ukraine end by May 9? He said, “The victory celebrations that fall on May 9 are a well-established tradition since the time of the Soviet Union… In this case, we focus Our actions in Ukraine are exclusively on the tasks I mentioned, which is the protection and security of the civilian population, and that there are no threats on the territory of Ukraine either for them (the population) or for Russia.”

He pointed out in this context that the West is trying to downplay the seriousness of the Nazi threats in Ukraine.

Lavrov stressed that the Russian army will not artificially adjust its tasks on any date, including Victory Day.

He said: “We will officially celebrate Victory Day as we always do. We remember those who fell for the liberation of Russia and the other republics of the Soviet Union, for the liberation of Europe from the Nazi plague.”

He explained that the pace of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine depends, first of all, on the need to reduce risks to the Russian civilian and military population.
