A sign of life from Ubisoft’s Skull & Bones – is it coming in 2022?

Ubisoft’s Skull & Bones has been a long time coming – it was announced at E3 2017 and it’s been quiet ever since. Until now!

More to Skull & Bones

The – hold on tight – pirate adventure that was announced five years ago has been postponed by several years. Ubisoft itself released the last official update a year and a half ago, in September 2020. Skull & Bones finally resurfaced on Friday when a Redditor posted a video showing six minutes of gameplay. It details the “Infamy” system, basically your bad reputation as a pirate. The crafting system is also getting some time, and overall there’s a lot to look forward to in this title. As your reputation grows, you’ll gain access to new, better, and cooler-looking ships.

In game, you’ll be able to complete “high-risk, high-reward” contracts with in-game NPCs, says the narrator, as well as explore, loot, and complete world events. In addition to exploring on land, you may set sail and board other ships – Skull & Bones is a pirate game following all. The video emphasizes survival elements and the importance of keeping your ship well stocked. Your crew can also mutiny if hunger gets the better of them, so there’s also a management part involved. If Skull & Bones will finally be released in 2022? There is no official statement yet, but a halfway up-to-date tweet should provide hope here. What do you think of this game?
