Muscat: The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has stepped up inspections in shops and markets ahead of the Eid al-Fitr. Inspections in governorates are carried out as part of ensuring food price stability and availability of goods. The previous day, inspections were carried out at butchers in Barka. Authorities demanded that everyone be prepared to comply with the rules and regulations.

Days earlier, authorities had also inspected shops selling fruits, vegetables, sweets and clothing in various governorates, including northern Batina and Muscat.
