Prices at the pump have stabilized compared to April 2022 while the 12.5 kg gas cylinder costs less. More than 55,000 households continue to benefit from an energy check. The State still applies an exceptional aid of 15 euro cents per liter of fuel.

As of May 1, 2022, the price of the gas cylinder (of 12.5 kg) is 30.32 euros, which represents a decrease of 1€14 cents compared to April 2022.

For fuels, with the application of the exceptional aid of 15 euro cents per liter, the maximum prices set are as follows:

  • Premium unleaded fuel : €1.83/L (same as April 2022)
  • Road diesel : €1.81/L (same as April 2022)

These prices apply to all fuels intended for the use of road, rail, river and maritime vehicles (including transport, tourism and fishing), agricultural and forestry machinery, building and public works and mining, business stationary engines.

On the other hand, aviation fuels, fuels used in industry (other than fuels) and intended for the production of electricity or other forms of energy are not affected by these tariffs.

On April 30, 2022, 55,473 modest households in Martinique received a 2nd energy check for an average amount of 150 euros.

In April 2022, these price trends were characterized by crude oil prices which fell by 12.2% on average. This is because of a prospect of falling Chinese demand and rising US rates. The average price of petrol and diesel fell by 2.8% on average following a fall in demand generated by the rise in hydrocarbon prices. Butane prices fell by an average of 10% due to a reduction in the risk of an embargo on Russian gas.
