Politburo Standing, Growth Promotion and Stimulation-Maintaining Zero Corona Policy-Bloomberg

On the 29th, the Politburo of the Communist Party of China promised to strengthen economic stimulus measures to promote growth and curb the spread of the new coronavirus that threatens this year’s economic growth target.

The Central Political Bureau issued a statement saying, “We should urgently plan further policy measures and appropriately strengthen the coordination.” China Central Television (CCTV) reported.

The statement noted that authorities should “strengthen macro-coordination, strive to achieve full-year economic and social development goals, and maintain reasonable economic growth.”

The Politburo also promised to strengthen infrastructure construction and support the housing market, but reiterated the view that “housing is for living, not speculation.”

In addition, lockdowns (city blockades) have been implemented in many parts of China, and the “zero corona policy” has not been set back for the new corona that is damaging the country’s economy.
