Blues” It’s been a long time since these two have had anything left to prove. Unquestionably, Taj Mahal and Ry Cooder are icons of American popular music, demanding and insensitive to the currents that make and break trends. Today, 55 years following their first encounter, these venerable crocodiles are enjoying studio recreation with Ry’s son, percussionist Joachim Cooder. The desire is as simple as it is urgent: to have fun playing a dusty folk blues that smells of the South. In all relaxation, the friends review devil’s laments such as The Midnight Special, Deep Sea Diver and a few others. Nothing new, just a few moments of undiluted happiness. JPB
