Al-Marsad newspaper: Al-Azhar Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tayeb and the head of the Evangelical community, Reverend Andre Zaki, revealed their firm position on homosexuality, stressing their rejection of it.

The Sheikh of Al-Azhar and the head of the Evangelical community affirmed, in a statement, their rejection of homosexuality: “We also reject attempts to impose an alien culture on the East under the pretext of rights and freedoms, and we adhere to preserving our religious, Arab and oriental values ​​in the face of the Western cultural invasion, and we warn Muslim and Christian youth once morest currents that try to mix concepts. and disrespect for our Arab, Islamic and Christian identity.”

The Sheikh of Al-Azhar stressed that “the cohesion of Muslims and Christians and their participation in all occasions and holidays presents the world with a living model of coexistence between the sons of the one nation, and it stems from our correct understanding of our true religion, and not out of courtesy or formalities, as promoted by some who do not understand the philosophy of religion and its message in spreading love.” And peace between all.”

In turn, the head of the Evangelical community said, addressing the Sheikh of Al-Azhar: “We wish you and all Muslims in Egypt and the world continued peace, health and love, and our country progress and prosperity, and we cherish the distinguished relationship with your eminence, for you are a great human value and a source of peace and coexistence.”
