The President of the Republic, Professor Faustin Archange Touadera, received in audience on April 28, 2022, a delegation from the rectorate of the University of Bangui.

The delegation was led by Prof. Gérard Grezengue, Rector of the University of Bangui. She came to inform the President of the Republic of the situation of the current academic year and to take stock of the infrastructure. The head of the university indicates that the strikes of students and higher education teachers have upset the calendar of academic activity 2021-2022. He also deplores the dilapidated condition of the University’s infrastructure and service premises. According to him, these infrastructures are no longer adapted to the number of students, which is plethoric. These problems, according to the rector, prevent students and their teachers from working in good conditions. Created in 1969 to house 300 students, the University of Bangui has approximately 12,000 students today.
