Two Detroit trade fairs were canceled due to Corona. The third is now to take place – but no longer in the depths of winter, as was previously the case.

The Detroit auto show is coming back with a new concept. For the first time, the North American Auto Show (NAIAS) will not take place at the beginning of the year as usual, but in the fall, from September 14th to 25th.
The venue remains the Cobo Center on the Detroit River, with an expanded outdoor area. In addition to the classic car premieres, test drive opportunities and events in the city center are intended to attract visitors, and more tech companies and suppliers will be represented than before. A new logo is intended to communicate the changed orientation to the outside world.
More than 800,000 visitors
The last two editions of the NAIAS were canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the corona pandemic. But the traditional show, like many other trade fairs, had already lost relevance in previous years. In 2019, for example, Mercedes, BMW and Porsche were no longer represented with stands. At the best of times, more than 800,000 people visited the fair.
