A funeral tribute will be paid Friday followingnoon at the Invalides to actor Jacques Perrin who died on April 21 at the age of 80, in the presence of the Minister of the Armed Forces Florence Parly.
“The Ministry of the Armed Forces salutes the memory of Mr. Perrin, who is an emblematic figure with whom generations of French officers and soldiers have identified themselves”, underlined the spokesperson for the Ministry of the Armed Forces, Hervé Grandjean, during a meeting. a press briefing.
“You know all the great films in which he participated, whether it is + The 317th section +, + The Tartar desert +, + The crab-drum +, + The legion jumps on Kolwezi + or + The honor of a captain +, often with Pierre Schoendoerffer with whom he was very associated, he added.
Jacques Perrin was particularly close to the army, according to the ministry. The actor was an officer in the citizen reserve of the French Navy as well as an official painter of the Navy.
At the time of his death, he was engaged in the making of the film “The Last Men” by David Oelhoffen, regarding the Foreign Legion, which is scheduled for release in 2023.
Member since 2019 of the Academy of Fine Arts, actor in more than 70 feature films at the cinema since the 1950s, notably with Pierre Schoendoerffer and Jacques Demy, he will also have been the co-producer of around fifteen films since the end of the 1960s, from “Z” by Costa-Gavras to “Himalaya: the childhood of a chef”, and lent his soft voice to a number of works.
