Polestar followed in the footsteps of Tesla and instead of traditional large-scale restyling, it prefers to make periodic upgrades to its cars. Therefore, the modified liftback presented now Polestar 2 on the outside, it differs from previous versions only with more spectacular wheels (19 or 20 inches to choose from). But in fact, there are many more updates.

Basic version Standard Range acquired a new traction battery with a capacity of 69 kWh instead of the previous 64 kWh. The power of the single electric motor on the front axle has been increased from 224 to 231 hp, the mileage per charge has increased from 420 to 440 km (on the WLTP cycle), and the power of the DC charger has been increased from 115 to 130 kW. In Europe, such a Polestar 2 costs from 44,000 euros.

Long Range modifications with a 78-kilowatt battery and one or two motors remained the same. But for all versions of the “two”, new trim options are proposed. The range of materials made from recycled materials has been expanded, but at the same time the upholstery in nappa leather has appeared. Finally, the efficiency of the heat pump in the climate system has been improved.

In addition, Polestar reported a reduction in the “carbon footprint” created during production. Recall that so far all Polestar 2 electric vehicles are produced in China. Changed aluminum supplier used for traction battery housings. The new supplier is making more use of renewable energy, and this has ultimately led to a reduction in specific CO emissions2 by 750 kg from each Polestar 2 electric vehicle. The wheel supplier will be changed next, reducing the carbon footprint by another 600 kg of CO2 from each produced car.
