The Pedro Castillo government is pleasing its closest allies. First he fulfilled the wishes of Vladimir Cerron with his call for an illegal referendum to change the Constitution; and now he is putting Guillermo Bermejo’s proposals on the agenda to manage the Vraem as he pleases.

Prime Minister Aníbal Torres promised – from Ayacucho – that the National Coca Company (Enaco) will buy, for at least one year, the leaf of registered coca growers and those who would enter a new register, but who are now illegal.

But that is not all. He also confirmed that there will be no eradication of illicit crops in the Vraem since the new strategy is the self-elimination of hectares of coca crops.

“We are entering that dangerous line of becoming a narco-state because the coca growers will now have a double market: Enaco, which will buy what the current government has, and the drug trafficking market, because the drug trafficker will not stop buying the leaf ”, he pointed out.

In addition, for Vargas, with this initiative, the government will have as an ally one more sector that would have space in the illegal Constituent Assembly.
