Israeli occupation: International community must intervene – Oman | Israeli occupation: International intervention needed – Oman

Muscat: Oman calls on international community to end Israeli occupation of Palestine. Oman’s representative to the UN Security Council, Oman’s Mohammed bin Awad Al Hassan, made the request. He said the international community should intervene in the matter in line with international resolutions. The Sultanate welcomed the statement made by the United Nations Middle East Coordinator for the Peace Process. He said the parties concerned would carry out their duties and co-operate as necessary to restore peace, security and stability in the areas of Al Quds and Haram Al Sharif.

Reports, including from international organizations, confirm that the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories is deteriorating. Despite international law and Security Council resolutions, Israeli attacks on the Palestinian people continue without justification. Mohammed bin Awad al-Hassan said that Oman condemned the provocative and illegal actions of Israel in the Palestinian territories.

The attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque and Al-Haram Al-Sharif’s worshipers are a blatant violation of international law, values and human rights. The sultanate also demanded that the international community be prepared to take on the responsibility of restoring the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and achieving peace.
