Elden Ring: a huge dragon as dangerous for your HP as for your CP!

News astuce Elden Ring: a huge dragon as dangerous for your HP as for your CP!

Seeing a gigantic sleeping dragon surrounded by several other smaller but wide awake dragons, the average Elden Ring player may have two reactions. Flee as far as possible, or draw his weapon before rushing into the heap. The Elden Ring modders, on the other hand, had a completely different idea…

If you have surveyed the region of Caelid, and more particularly the Draconic Mound, you might not miss Greyoll, the Elder of the Dragons. This optional boss is one of the most gigantic creatures ofElden Ringbut luckily she’s pinned to the ground and won’t do anything even if you attack her. In fact, the difficulty of this optional boss lies rather in the group of dragons which surrounds it and which, them, will not hesitate to attack you if you approach too closely. But where most players would see an immobile dragon as a perfect opportunity to slay, the modding community PC from Elden Ring only saw an opportunity to spice up the fight a bit by waking him up.

Summary

  • It’s not the size that matters
  • It’s a bird ? Is it a plane? It’s a huge dragon!

It’s not the size that matters

It’s not uncommon in Elden Ring to come across (much) larger versions of other originally smaller creatures. Also in the Caelid area, for example, is a huge jar (aptly called “The Great Jar”) that will test you if you speak to it. If you’ve explored the Underworld long enough, it may remind you of another talking jar by the name of Alexander. Although the Great Jar cannot move in the original game, it is nevertheless coded in the same way as its version twelve times smallerand it is this information that Zullie the Witch, content creator and modder behind the video above, retained.

By fiddling a bit with the game files, she managed to make a mod to animate these gigantic versions of originally immobile creatures. Thus, she was able to put the Grande-Jarre straight on her feet, and even force her to attack. However, the latter does not appear to have a hitbox, either to carry or take attacks. Animating this huge ceramic pot therefore has no real use other than the pleasure of seeing a jar 34 meters high move in front of you. For the Elder of the Dragons, on the other hand, it is another story..

It’s a bird ? Is it a plane? It’s a huge dragon!

If Zullie the Witch’s mod works on the Great Jar, it also works on Greyoll. And as much to tell you that you will have to do with a very beautiful beast. 86 meters high, 182 meters long, and 261 meters with wings outstretched, more than three times larger than the Ancient Dragon of Dark Souls III, which measured “only” 25 meters! But where the mod really comes into its own is that the Doyenne does not just wake up. Taking example from the little dragons who protect her, she will also start attacking you and using the same moves as her little brothers.

However, if you wanted to try the mod to tackle such a behemoth, be warned: the game is clearly not made for such a fight. Much too big for its environment, the Dragon Elder struggles to move properly, and if her attacks are devastating for your health bar, they are also devastating for your computer. As if he refused to accompany you in such a crazy fight, the latter may feel too much pressure at the sight of the huge dragon and completely crash the game. Feel free to try if you feel like it, but as much to tell you that you will certainly not come out unscathed.
