On Wednesday, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced the imposition of personal sanctions on 287 members of the House of Commons of the British Parliament.

“In response to the decision taken by the British government on March 11 to include the names of 386 members of the Russian Duma in the sanctions list, personal restrictions are imposed on the 287 members of the House of Commons of the British Parliament on the basis of reciprocity,” a statement issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

The statement stated that the list of Russian sanctions includes the Speaker of the British House of Commons, Lindsey Harvey Hoyle.

“These people, who are now banned from entering Russian territory, took a more active role in creating the instruments of anti-Russian sanctions in London, and they are contributing to anti-Russian hysteria in Britain,” he added.
