Manchester City’s Phil Foden praised the team’s performance in the match that ended with a 4-3 victory over Real Madrid on Tuesday evening, in the first leg of the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Phil Foden starred in the ranks of Manchester City during the match, and scored the team’s third goal, and Manchester City missed several opportunities, especially during the first half, which were enough to win a greater number of goals.
Manchester City and Real Madrid meet once more at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid next Wednesday, with the winner of the two matches qualifying for the final, where the winner will meet in the other semi-final match between Liverpool and Villarreal of Spain.
After the match, Foden told BT Sport: “It was a great match. From the beginning to the end. We had a really good start and we might have settled the match. In these matches, we need to take chances more.
“It was a huge football match of course for the spectators,” he added. We are facing a team that has won the Champions League several times, and we are liable to pay the price when we give the ball away in front of them. This is an aspect that we must work on in the return leg. This is the key to outperforming the riyal and the competition remains.
