Paul Daraîche’s sister, Julie, died at the age of 84 following decades of life in music.

It was his daughter Dani Daraîche who first made the announcement on social networks, late Tuesday followingnoon.

“It is with great sadness that I announce the death of my little loving mother My queen …. I love you,” she soberly wrote, prompting an avalanche of tributes and sad reactions.

In a press release, the Daraîche family clarified that the cause of death is natural and that a coroner’s inquest should eventually provide more details.

The country singer had just celebrated her 84th birthday two days early on Sunday at a bar in Pointe-aux-Trembles, many Internet users pointed out on her Facebook page by sharing photos of the celebrations.

Her daughter Dany even relayed a video showing her mother pushing the note on stage on the occasion of her birthday.

Born on April 27, 1938 in Saint-François-de-Pabos, a village now merged with Chandler, in Gaspésie, Julie Daraîche quickly developed a fascination for country music.

This love for this mucical style led Julie Daraîche to mark Quebec music for more than five decades. Moreover, the singer had released the album Julie Daraîche – 50 years of love” resuming her greatest career successes in 2021.

The artist’s discography includes some twenty albums, including several in which she expresses herself alongside her brother Paul Daraîche and other members of the family.

“She leaves to mourn her daughter Dani, her son Richard, her brother Paul as well as the many members of the Daraiche family in addition to many fans, friends and important people in the country music industry”, underlined family.
