The head of the Progressive Socialist Party, Walid Jumblatt, sent a cable to French President Emmanuel Macron congratulating him on his election as President of the French Republic for a new presidential term.
The text of the telegram stated:
Your great victory brought relief to France and renewed hope for your efforts towards Lebanon.
Through this letter, I would like to congratulate you, with my best wishes for success in facing the great challenges that await you, which you confirmed through your letter from the Champ de Mars, which I followed from Lebanon.
On my behalf, on behalf of my family, and on behalf of the Progressive Socialist Party in Lebanon, please accept my warm greetings and wishes for lasting success.
