“I was asked to imitate my grandmother”: the granddaughter of the famous cook Maïté swings on Objectif Top Chef

Yesterday, on the show “It starts today”, famous grandparents were honored. And for this new episode presented by Faustine Bollaert, we found Benji and his grandmother Evelyne Leclercq but also Marie-Sarah, who came to testify regarding her relationship with her grandfather Jean d’Ormesson or Amber and the actress Liliane Rovière (seen in particular in the hit series Ten percent and Family Busness). Without forgetting… the granddaughter of the famous restaurateur Maïté, whose particular way of overcoming eels is well known. From her real name Marie-Thérèse Ordonez, Maïté had made the heyday of cooking shows on France 3as The Kitchen of the Musketeers with Micheline Banzet-Lawton. Her granddaughter, Camille, aged 20, therefore came to testify on the France 2 program to discuss her incredible relationship with her grandmother.

“She is enjoying her retirement”

“An exceptional grandmother, there was never this Maïté side, but rather grandma Maïté” first entrusted Camille to Faustine Bollaert. Between her and Maïté at the same age, the resemblance is striking. Camille takes the opportunity to give her news “She is doing very well, she is enjoying her retirement family with usstill in his village of Rion-des-Landes”. Maïté, 83 years old today, has made a definitive mark on television. “This media side has passed to him, confirms Camille. In 2010, she chose to retire”. Grandmother Ordonnez nevertheless made her grandchildren discover her programs by broadcasting her exploits to them. “to put them to sleep” said the granddaughter.

“It was a bit complicated on M6”

Passionate regarding cooking since she was five years old, it was precisely her grandmother who pushed her to participate in Objectif Top Chef in 2018. If everything went very well with chef Etchebest, it was less the case with the production of the cooking show. “It was a little complicated at the time of the interview, she confides on France 2. I was asked to imitate my grandmother. There was his cult phrase ‘There is no writing woodcock’ and I was asked to repeat it, like her. With the same aplomb. At that moment, I understood and I said to myself: ‘I came only for that, to make the audience, only to talk regarding my grandmother in the end”. A behavior that strongly “hurt” Camille, who however ensures that her grandmother was nevertheless very proud of her participation in the cooking show of M6. “She always wanted me to do a TV show to see how it went.”
