The New York University Abu Dhabi Center for Astrophysics, Particles and Planets has launched its first podcast on astronomy and space sciences, titled “Speed Out”.
The podcast aims to promote scientific thinking and raise public curiosity regarding astronomy and space sciences, by hosting a group of NYU Abu Dhabi experts in this field with speakers from the space sector and other academic institutions.
The inaugural season includes 10 episodes of 30 to 45 minutes each, and the New York University Abu Dhabi Center for Astrophysics, Particles and Planets will air an episode every Tuesday on Apple Podcasts.
The center, in collaboration with Andrea Makic, its principal investigator, appointed 3 research assistants from university students to support the development of the programme.
The director of the center, Bianca Arkin, produced the podcasts, with the participation of the assistant researcher, Mohamed Abbas, the main supervisor of the dialogue in all sessions.
The NYUAD Center for Astrophysics, Particles and Planets is a platform for collaboration between the university and researchers for research and development in the fields of astronomy, astrophysics, planetary science, and astroparticle physics.
This cooperation aims during the next half decade to provide answers to basic questions regarding the stages of formation and evolution of the universe, and the center seeks to address these questions from different perspectives, by combining the latest observational data from Earth and space on the nature of visible and invisible matter, with theoretical modeling.
