Al-Marsad newspaper: The Saudi Central Bank has warned of financial fraud by falsifying contact numbers.
The Central Bank clarified that financial fraud is done by falsifying contact numbers through the use of customized software to hide the real caller’s number, and change it to another number such as the number of a public or financial entity.
The Central Bank indicated that following that, individuals are contacted to request disclosure of their account and bank card data with the aim of financial fraud.
The bank indicated that this matter can be avoided by closing the line and not responding to any call that asks the person to disclose the account and bank card data; This data is confidential and private to the user only.
The Central Bank stressed the need for the user to be aware, pointing out that public authorities and financial institutions do not require their customers to disclose bank card and account data.
