Solid recovery in air traffic, 2022 under “very good auspices”

The year 2022 is under “very good auspices”, evidenced by both the air traffic recorded since the recovery and that expected for the months to come, indicates the National Airports Office (ONDA).

Thus, the average forecast recovery rate, compared to 2019, of passenger traffic at Morocco’s airports would be 75%, said ONDA in a press release. Europe, which represents more than 82% of international air traffic, recorded a recovery rate of around 66% compared to 2019.

This rate would exceed 100% for several airports, in particular that of Tangier (104%), Nador (104%), Al Hoceima (106%), Oujda (108%) and Tetouan airport (537%), the same source.

Regarding connectivity, the 2022 summer season will be marked by the creation of 48 new lines, notes ONDA. These include 2 lines at Mohammed V airport, 12 lines at Marrakech airport, 11 at Agadir and 9 at Nador, in addition to 48 new air routes for several airports (Mohammed V airport to Manama and Kuwait City, Tangier airport for Rome and London-Stansted and Oujda airport for Barcelona, Seville, Montpelier and Nantes).
