Diosdado Cabello, first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), attacked Lorenzo Mendoza, president of Empresas Polar, on Monday.
He referred to Mendoza as “a port businessman” when alluding to the fact that he “didn’t do anything to produce” and that he preferred to import.
“Those who are very concerned are those port entrepreneurs, those who never did anything to produce but preferred to import. Those are in the doldrums. Dollars are no longer given to Lorenzo Mendoza, a parasite of the Venezuelan economy, a dollar sucker,” said Cabello.
Diosdado Cabello also attacked the media
He also lambasted the media by saying, disparagingly, that “dollars are no longer given to them to bring in movies and soap operas.”
All this during a Press conference in which he affirmed that the government of Nicolás Maduro is putting an end to oil rentism. He also assured that the production of food and other products in national territory is being increased.
