A new accident involving a Bpost van took place this Monday morning in Machelen-aan-de-Leie, in the north of the country. The postman’s vehicle hit a lamppost before ending up in a garden. It was a surprise for passersby who, witnessing the accident, rushed to help the postman.
Indeed, the motorist was none other than the same postman who had fallen asleep at the wheel and damaged three houses two weeks ago. If we do not know the exact circumstances of this morning’s road trip, it is possible that the man fell asleep once more…
“It’s a shame that this is happening once more,” Bpost spokesperson Veerle Van Mierlo told HLN. He adds that “we will now investigate what exactly happened. The well-being and health of our employees is very important to us. At first we were happy that he wasn’t injured, but now we have to find out if something else is going on.”
