Kochi: The Kerala Blasters FC has announced that the contract of young midfielder Jackson Singh Taunojam has been extended for another three years. The player will stay at the club until 2025 under a three-year contract. The player from Manipur was introduced to football through his coaching father. He started his career at the age of 11 at the Chandigarh Football Academy.

The player spent five years here improving his skills. In 2016, Minerva joined the youth team of Punjab. He was a key member of the academy team that won the AIFF Under-15 and Under-16 Youth League titles for two consecutive years. Jackson Singh, who represented India in the 2017 FIFA Under-17 World Cup, made history by scoring India’s only goal in the tournament.

He also played on loan for the Indian Arrows in the 2017-18 league. The 20-year-old earned a place in the reserve team of the Kerala Blasters for his outstanding performance. Promotion to the Blazers’ senior team in 2019. He played 48 matches for Kerala Blasters in the Indian Super League and scored two goals. Geekson also has 187 tackles and 35 interceptions.
