Mars in response to Al-Ahly’s accusations of “missing”: an individual act

Hazem Mustafa, president of Sudan’s Mars, denied what was raised by Mohamed Sayed Ahmed, the club’s deputy board of directors, in agreement with Al-Ahly to “miss” the two group stage matches in the African Champions League.

Al-Ahly and Al-Marreikh were in the first group in the group stage of the Champions League in its current version, which also included Al-Hilal of Sudan and Sundowns of South Africa.

During telephone statements on the “Al-Hadath Al-Youm” satellite channel, Mustafa said: “What happened from the club’s deputy (Mohamed Sayed Ahmed) is an individual act that does not represent the club or its fans.”

He added, “We have all respect and appreciation for Al-Ahly, who honored us and provided us with all the facilities during our stay in Cairo. Al-Ahly is a great and great club, and it is not permissible, by reason or logic, for there to be an agreement like this.”

He continued, “The incident is not intended for Al-Ahly club. There is a difference in views within the Al-Merreikh club, and unfortunately the arrow was accidentally hit by Al-Ahly.”

He continued: “The best performance for Mars was once morest Al-Ahly. We played two big matches despite the loss.”

He continued: “In the second match, we filed a complaint once morest Al-Ahly for the participation of Hamdi Fathi in the match, and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) responded to us with the correctness of his participation because he was on the list. We preserve the rights of the club and its fans.”

And he concluded: “A contact will be made with Mahmoud Al-Khatib (Al-Ahly president) and an official statement will be issued, and all necessary measures will be taken once morest the perpetrator of the incident.”

It is worth noting that Al-Ahly qualified for the semi-finals of the African Champions League following eliminating Moroccan Raja in the quarter-finals, and it is scheduled to meet with Algeria’s ES Setif following it overthrew Tunisia’s Esperance.
