Wriddhiman Saha text case: Senior cricket journalist Boria Majumdar banned for two years

Mumbai: Senior cricket journalist Boria Majumdar has been banned from covering matches in India for two years. The BCCI’s inquiry committee has decided to impose a two – year ban on Majumdar following his conviction in the Wriddhiman Saha text case.

‘We will inform all the state units of the Board of Control for Cricket in India that he should not be allowed inside the stadium. He will not be given media accreditation for home matches. In addition, we will write to the ICC to blacklist him. I will tell the players not to give him an interview, ”the BCCI said.

Saha had earlier posted on Twitter on February 23 alleging that he had threatened an anonymous journalist through WhatsApp. Saha was also threatened by a journalist for leaking WhatsApp screenshots. Saha later revealed that he was Majumdar.
