The discovery of a new mutant more prevalent than Omicron!

The new mutant of the Corona virus, known as (XE), was discovered in Britain last January, and since that time the number of infections has risen to 1,179 so far.

Although the number seems relatively small so far, health officials in Britain have warned that the new mutant of corona is more spreadable than other mutant ones, according to what the British newspaper, The Independent, said.

The new mutant is known as (XE), which is a mixture of the strains of the “Omicron” mutant (PA.1) and (PA.2).

The World Health Organization says that preliminary estimates show that the growth rate of infection with this mutation is 10 percent greater than that of the mutant (PA.2), but this result needs additional confirmation.

The mutant (XE) belongs to the “Omicron” group, but differs from it in some aspects such as transmissibility.

Health experts confirm that corona vaccines can combat “Omicron”, but they urged that the booster dose be taken.

And the Health Security Agency in Britain says that the mutation is spread by up to 12.6 percent more than the current (PA.2).

Alan Stout, who is president of the British Medical Association, says: “Initial indications are that the new mutation will be more susceptible to spread, so it is likely that it will become the dominant one.”

The symptoms of the new mutation are similar to those of the previous ones, such as sore throat, runny nose, and fatigue.

And experts had previously talked regarding that, the new mutant does not raise any concern, especially since this type of mutant appears and disappears on its own over time.
