Sony’s next flagship headphones have a stylish new design

German technology news site published TechnikNews Some pictures and specifications of the headset, apparently called the WH-1000XM5.

The first thing you might notice regarding Sony headphones is the sleek new design, especially the thin and slim headband. The 1000XM3s and 1000XM4 were almost identical in appearance, but it seems that Sony intends to change the way its hardware looks with the new 1000XM5s.

In place of the hooded ear cups, they have been replaced with bare ones, and the single point contact with the headband replaces the XM4’s larger folding hinge over the ear cups. This changes the design of the ear cups as well.

According to the source, the WH-1000XM5 will have an estimated battery life of 40 hours with ANC turned on, which results in 10 hours longer than the XM4, with a total charging time of three and a half hours via USB-C, which is regarding 30 minutes longer About XM4. The source also reported that the speaker will use two ANC processors instead of one, and the sound will be produced by a new driver, although there are no details on what has been changed.
