The Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces mediation for the release of 14 foreign nationals detained in Yemen, following coordination with “the concerned authorities in the Yemeni capital, Sana’a, and Saudi Arabia.”

The Omani Foreign Ministry: The released detainees were transferred on board a plane belonging to the Royal Air Force of Oman
On Sunday, the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Sultanate has coordinated with the relevant authorities in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, and with Saudi Arabia to facilitate the release of 14 foreigners detained in Yemen.
The ministry added, in a statement, that the released are “a Briton, his wife and child, seven Indians, a Filipino, an Indonesian, an Ethiopian and a person from Myanmar.”

And she continued: “Today, the released were transferred from Sanaa to Muscat on board a plane belonging to the Royal Air Force of Oman, in preparation for their return to their countries.”
On Friday, the Yemeni “Saba” news agency reported the arrival of Omani plane to Sanaa International Airportcoming from Muscat, noting that she was “carrying an Omani delegation, accompanied by the head of the negotiating delegation to the Sanaa government, Muhammad Abdul Salam.”
The agency pointed out that “the visit of the Omani delegation to Sanaa comes within the framework of following up the dialogue with the head of the Supreme Political Council in Yemen, Mahdi Al-Mashat.”
